At Scandinavian Medical Solutions, we offer a wide variety of diagnostic imaging equipment – from larger systems such as MRI and CT scanners, as well as smaller diagnostic imaging equipment such as Mammography, ultrasound, and X-Ray scanners. We offer systems from all major OEM brand such as GE, Siemens, and Philips.
If you are currently looking to purchase a used X-Ray system it can sometimes be a rather overwhelming process – what type of system fits your requirements, procedures, as well as budget – what should you choose? We will try to give a brief overview, which hopefully can function as a miniguide when choosing a preowned X-Ray system.
Which X-Ray system is the best fit for your requirements?
X-rays come in a variety of styles each with strengths but also some weaknesses for specific purposes. When selecting a new, but used, x-ray machine, it is important to consider whether the scanner should be portable, ceiling-mounted, or floor-mounted.
Firstly, portable x-ray scanners were originally designed specifically for bedside procedures and for usage during surgeries. Therefore, not a great fit for x-ray labs and everyday use. Also, the portable x-rays systems do not typically have the penetration power that a stationary x-ray system has. For some procedures, such as abdomen or chest procedures, the image quality of a portable system simply does not cut it.
Having the above written in mind, stationary X-Ray systems are usually best to buy, if you are looking for a day-in-and-day-out workhorse, by purchasing a used system rather than new, you will still get an affordable solution.
Scandinavian Medical Solutions has a wide selection of used X-Ray machines for sale. For additional information or guidance in finding the right system for your clinical requirements, please do not hesitate to contact our sales team directly.
